While in Excelsior Springs there are ongoing events such as the Lane of Lights, Hall of Trees, and seasonal sales in all of the stores, there are plenty of other things happening just outside the area that folks might want to partake in!
1. World’s of Fun – Winterfest
Come for the sights, sounds and festive fun of the holiday season during WinterFest. This event is packed with holiday spirit and unique experiences for friends and families to enjoy. Experience Worlds of Fun like never before and become immersed in the season’s spirit with a grand display of holiday lighting, festive décor, live entertainment and fanciful experiences, including a selection of your favorite rides.
What’s the holiday season without the food? The Worlds of Fun culinary team has you covered. Our executive chef thoughtfully crafts a holiday-style menu with special dining locations and food offerings throughout the park. Treat yourself to a hearty helping of smoked turkey, glazed hams and traditional fixings; or, try our homemade holiday breads and desserts that leave you with dreams of sugar plum fairies.
From millions of shimmering lights and hands-on activities to exceptional shopping and live shows, WinterFest is the grandest holiday event in Kansas City!
2. Olde World Christmas Weekend Tours – Kansas City, Kansas

3. Santa Dives at Kansas City Zoo
What’s red and white and swimming with the penguins at Helzberg Penguin Plaza? Santa! Get a one-of-a-kind photo of Santa as penguins torpedo around him. Watch the penguin bubbles trail the man in the red suit and hear the children giggle. Dives are at 2 p.m. December 22nd and 23rd.
Also, watch for Santa Dives at the Sea Life Aquarium in Kansas City December 18, 19, and 20 at 11:00am. Santa will join the deep sea fun as he dives into the Ocean Tank to see all of the good little fishies this holiday season! They’ve decked the halls of Stingray Bay where you can write a letter to your favorite sea creature!
Please note, all activities are included with the regular price of admission to SEA LIFE Aquarium. Purchase tickets online in-advance to save on individual admission! Tickets available online at:https://www.visitsealife.com/kansas-city/tickets/
