Local artist Denice Belcher has just recently opened a new studio space in downtown Excelsior Springs. Studio 108 is located on Broadway in the heart of downtown in what was previously Waves on Broadway and the Blue Raddish!
The Studio showcases original artwork, hand crafted furniture and gift items. This past week she announced on the Studio’s Facebook Page that she would begin holding art classes in the space.
Instructor Burton Hughes will be leading a Life Drawing Class to be held weekly on Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm during the month of April. Hughes is an artist, graphic designer and illustrator with 38 years of professional experience. He is a graduate of the Academy of Art Chicago. Cost for the class is $175 and includes supplies and model fee. Class is limited to 6 students so those interested should reserve right away by contacting Denice at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the future, Denice plans to continue drawing classes, as well as have oil painting, floral arranging and tie dyeing classes in the space. In the studio now you will find refinished furniture pieces, hand crafted items by local artists, and beautiful works of art!
Stop by Studio 108 at 108 E Broadway in downtown Excelsior Springs on Friday and Saturdays from 10am-5pm. Follow her on Facebook by clicking here!
