This week citizen Shawna Lynn Yenzer asked the Excelsior Springs Area News, Events, and Daily Deals facebook group who has the best burger in town! There were 80 comments that were made, so I summarized all the votes and below are the top 5 mentioned:

1. Broadway Bar & Grill

From their website: Broadway Bar & Grill is family-owned and managed by Cheryl Boos and daughter, Misty Wright established in 2011. Located in the historic Hall of Waters district in downtown Excelsior Springs, Mo., the restaurant features a great atmosphere for dining and spending time with friends and family.

Outdoor seating area. Back deck overlooks the Craig Piburn baseball field and Fishing River Linear Park.

2. Ray’s Lunch/Diner

Ray’s Diner (or Ray’s Lunch, as we oldies remember it being!) has had a classic burger recipe since the 1950’s! They’ve got a great taste, straight from the grill, that you can watch being prepared and cooked while sitting at the counter. The burgers aren’t huge, like other burgers. So if you eat heartily, you might get a double…or a couple of doubles!

3. The Garage Burgers and Bar

From what I can tell, The Garage Burgers and Bar has been in Excelsior since at least 2016. They’re known for “The Challenger” burger, which includes Four 1/2 pound patties, 4 eggs, 8 strips of bacon, sour cream, jalapenos, 4 slices of pepper jack cheese and 1 lb of curly fries! If you can eat all of that, they give you a free t-shirt!

4. Tiger Bowl

From their Facebook Page: Formerly Victory Lanes, Tiger Bowl is under new ownership. With over 30 years in the bowling industry Jerry Ferrell Jr. has dedicated his life to the sport of bowling. His vision for Tiger Bowl is to make the community of Excelsior Springs and surrounding cities proud of this bowling center.

5. Debbie’s Family Restaurant

There’s not much online activity for Debbie’s Family Restaurant but their customers always have great things to say about the place! They’ve got a loyal following…thinking of you, Jenece Saunders! Stop in sometime! They’re located downtown, right next to Dari-B on Isley Boulevard/10 Highway.

Other Local Restaurants with great burgers mentioned in the thread:

– Applebee’s
– 88 at The Elms
– Golf Hill Grill
– McDonald’s
– Mill Inn Restaurant
– Mugg’s Diner
– Price Chopper Grill
– Sonic Drive Thru
– Ventana Gourmet Grill
