ESHS Graduates Celebrate Despite Pandemic

The Excelsior Springs Tigers are not immune to the effects of the virus, with a delayed date for traditional graduation ceremonies pushed to August 1st. With Friday having been the day originally set for graduation, ESHS Grads took to the street with a Senior Parade!

It all started when senior mom Kathy Addison-Parks shared the above image on Facebook. When fellow senior mom Penny Beers saw the image, she went to work, organizing a Senior Parade of our own using social media. The word spread and by the time Friday evening came, 82 seniors were ready, lined up in decorated cars.

ESHS Graduate Jett Riveria concluded the parade, throwing stuffed animals to all the parade goers!

Response for the parade to be an ongoing tradition for our seniors was overwhelmingly supported! Here’s what people had to say when asked in the ES Area News, Events, and Daily Deals Facebook group:

Throughout the week Seniors were adopted by members of the community and were showered with gifts! Here’s a video showcasing pictures of our Seniors from their parents and loved ones:
